Sleep Assist Prototype
This fun little device was designed for people with snoring issues or patients who are required to sleep in a certain position during the night.
Powered by a simple cell battery this device, which would be pinned to ones sleeping attire, would gently alert you once you have moved into the wrong position while you slept.
A tilt sensor, piezoelectric alarm, and a miniature microcontroller monitors the patient as he sleeps.
The longer the individual remained in the incorrect position the more persistent and louder the alarm would behave. This is to allow the individual to respond promptly so as not to disturb others unless necessary. Although designed as a simple product, no further production or marketing efforts were done.
